Black Stars captain Andre Ayew scored a stunning goal for his Qatari side Al Sadd but it was not enough as his side suffered a rare defeat to Al Duhail in a five-goal thriller at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha.

Al Sadd who won the league where looking to add the Emir Cup but were dumped at the semi final stage by Al Duhail after a 3-2 defeat.

Tunisia international midfielder Ferjani Sassi scored twice and one other goal from Kenya striker Michael Olunga Ogada to send Al Duhail through to the final.

The Ghanaian forward cut in from the right flank and curled home a belter with his left foot into the top left corner of the post.

Algeria striker Baghdad Bounedjah added another goal but that was not enough as as Al Duhail scored three more goals.

Andre Ayew finishes the season as the club's top scorer with 17 goals in 24 matches this season.

He will not be available when Ghana face Nigeria in the 2022 World Cup play off after his sending off at the AFCON against Comoros.
