Sports Journalist with Multimedia's Adom TV, Patrick Osei Agyemang A.K.A Country Man Songo has rendered an apology to the assistant coach of Black Stars, John Paintsil.

This follows some disparaging remarks the broadcaster made on his popular sports show on Adom TV against the former player.

It will be recalled that the former Black Stars defender was named as the assistant coach of the senior men's national team when Otto Addo was appointed for the second time as the Ghana coach.

Songo and some other journalists accused the former Fulham defender of forging his CAF license among others.

John Paintsil has since then sued Patrick Osei Agyemang A.K.A Country Man Songo, Veronica Commey, Christopher Nimeley, Saddick Adams and their respective media houses for defamation.

The Black Stars assistant coach among other reliefs is seeking damages of GHC80 million from Country Man Songo, the three other persons and their respective media houses.

On Monday, 8th April, 2024, the controversial sports journalist took time to render an apology to John Paintsil.

“God said we should be straightforward so if you realize that you’ve wronged your brother, just apologize. I want to apologize to John Paintsil for some things that didn’t go well.

He’s a deputy Black Stars coach. I said certain things that didn’t sit well with him and it worried him," Songo said.

He added, "Sometimes when you get angry you say things that you later regret because you didn’t handle things well. So I want to tell him I am sorry and I ask for his forgiveness because after all football is the reason we are in this industry."
