There are three players who bear Ghanaian names currently at German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen but interestingly all three players have differing nationalities aside Ghana.

The trio have been captured in a video shared by the club discussing their various FIFA 23 ratings.

They are heard complaining about their low ratings among themselves with Frimpong heard speaking Twi a popular Ghanaian language telling the two 'Meba meba to wo bo' to wit; wait I'm coming have patience.

Leverkusen has Timothy Fosu Mensah who was born in the Netherlands to Ghanaian parents and came through the ranks at Ajax before joining Manchester United at an early age but things did not work out at the English giants.

There is also Jeremie Frimpong who also has Ghanaian parents and was also born in the Netherlands and started at the Manchester City academy before being sold to Celtic where he shone and earned a move to the German side.

Perhaps the most famous of all three is on-loan Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi whose father Bismark Odoi played for local Ghanaian giants Accra Hearts of Oak in the 1980s.

Hudson-Odoi was born in England to Ghanaian parents and has played for England at youth level and also has three caps for the Three Lions.

Ghana has been on the trail of all three but Frimpong has made it clear that he will play for Netherlands while Hudson-Odoi has been heavily linked with playing for Ghana at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
