It was the perfect display from Asante Kotoko as they pummeled the new boys at the Baba Yara Stadium in a five star performance.

Kotoko returned to winning ways in style as they pummeled the Bibiani based side at will at their own back yard.

The host should have taken the lead very early in the game as Sheriff Mohammed sent a thunderbolt goalwards but it was saved for a corner kick which was wasted.

Steven Owusu nearly fetched the opener for Gold Stars in the 12th minute but Ibrahim Imoro saved the day for Kotoko.

The porcupine warriors were presented with an early Easter gift by Gold Stars goalkeeper Ernest Kusi who failed to grab a simple cross which Mfegue bundled home in the 31st minute for the opener.

Eight minutes later, Mfegue grabbed his brace as compatriot Mbella sent him clean through as he clipped the ball over the onrushing goalie to make it 2-0 to Kotoko.

After the break Mfegue suffered an injury as he was replaced by Samuel Boateng but on the 59th minute Augustine Agyapong scored his first ever Kotoko goal with a bullet of a shot to make it 3-0.

Ghana Premier League top scorer Frank Mbella converted from the spot in the 80th minute to grab his 14th goal of the season to make it 4-0 for Kotoko.

Samuel Boateng rounded up the scores with the fifth goal for Kotoko in the 86th minute.
