Kumasi Asante Kotoko have finally exorcised the ghost that have haunted them at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park in Dormaa on New Year's day as they recorded their first ever win in Dormaa.

The porcupine warriors inflicted a 2-0 defeat on Aduana Stars at the hitherto no go area in an entertaining game on New Year's day.

Kotoko took control of the game after a good start from Aduana Stars with Emmanuel Gyamfi causing some problems for the porcupine warriors.

The reds settled into the game and took total control with Mudasiru Salifu ,Richard Boadu and Richmond Lamptey dominating the midfield battle.

Kotoko should  have scored before the corner that resulted in the 19th minute opener but they wasted the chance before Georges Rodrigues Mfegue headed home from close range from a corner kick.

Prosper Nartey's charges should have scored a lot of goals but profligacy and some good saves from Joseph Addo kept Aduana Stars in the game.

After recess, the home side pushed for the equalizer with the introduction of Kotoko 'slayer' Samuel Bioh who has a specialty in scoring against Kotoko and Yahaya Mohammed but it was in vain.

A late counter attack was slotted home by the impressive Richmond Lamptey to make the results safe to cap a fine performance on the day.
