Government has signed an agreement with Visionscape Sanitation Solutions to handle countries waste management, ghanguardian.com has gathered.

The new agreement will see visionscape replace Zoomlion in  waste management as well as environmental sanitation business in the country.

According to a source, a series of meetings have already been held between the Visionscape team in Lagos and Dubai and  a high profile delegation from Ghana, led by the country’s Minister for Environment,Science, Technology and Innovation Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng.

"The Ghanaian delegation was impressed by the global pedigree of Visionscape and would like the company to provide an end to end solution in the management of their waste,’’ the source said adding that: "Visionscape and Ghana have signed an agreement on waste management.’’

Both parties are yet to confirm the new deal with all the details involved.

Ghana Government in Febrauary announced it will take on new service providers to handle its Youth in Sanitation Module under the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) from June this year [2018]when its contract with Zoomlion expires.

It underscored the need to invite new waste management companies, saying its  current arrangement with Zoomlion is not satisfactory.
