In the Ghana Premier League's matchday 28 fixture, Hearts of Oak suffered a narrow defeat at home to Accra Lions, further complicating their campaign's struggles.

Despite numerous attempts to salvage the game, Hearts of Oak fell short as Ibrahim Issa's 56th-minute goal secured maximum points for Ibrahim Tanko's side.

Assistant Coach Abdul Rahim Bashiru, however, maintains that his team largely controlled the game, disputing the notion that Hearts of Oak's tactics failed.

"No, I don't think so," Bashiru stated regarding the effectiveness of Hearts of Oak's tactics.

"From the outset, we were in control of the game. You could see that we dominated in terms of ball possession and various other aspects.

Even in the first half, there were numerous opportunities that we could have capitalized on, but unfortunately, we couldn't convert our chances. So, I don't believe they outperformed us."

Looking ahead, Hearts of Oak will shift their focus to their upcoming match against Berekum Chelsea at Golden City Park on Saturday, May 4, 2024, with hopes of reversing their recent form.
