Former Attorney General and Special Prosecutor nominee Martin Amidu has stated that the committee appointed by parliament will not stop him from fighting corrupt officials in the state.
He affirmed this when he indicated that, in his vetting that the country is not a 'milking cow' that will provide grounds for people to squander monies belonging to the State.
Mr Amidu has indicated that he has come across and lived in harmony with decent people and he is not ready to compromise that to live among corrupt ones.
‘I have lived in harmony with decent people for 66 years. I can’t live in harmony with criminals,’ he asserted.
‘I have demonstrated it before and I will make sure that I am above suspicion, that is the only way we can eradicate corruption. Thieves fear experienced, tested and credible investigators, they know they can’t influence, that’s the way to deal with crime,’ he said.
Mr Amidu is known as citizen vigilante and is hailed throughout the country for the vibrant role he played by single handedly dragging Alfred Agbesi Woyome to court over judgment debt he owes the country and won the case on behalf of the country.
