In case you’ve not heard, the 2017 Nigerian budget is out and contains things you really may not want to hear or see.
The N7.298 trillion spending plan for 2017 is still at the hands of the National Assembly who approve and passes it back to the president for assent.
You can access it all here if you haven’t gotten the full breakdown of it. Our eyes caught a lot of details and the huge amounts put beside it.
Here are some of the things Nigerians on Twitter are saying about it.
1. This urgent question

But the federal government has a whole team for media and publicity why are they paying to engage social mobilisers?
— (@Jollz) ">2. Some people think it’s okay to set out 180 million naira for social media influencers

— (@AfroVII) ">
I don't think including N180m for propaganda/social media "influencers" is a big deal. Paying for propaganda isn't unusual. Meh.
— (@AfroVII) ">3. People think there are more things to use the money for

180 Million Naira for APC social media Influencers but our Soldiers are suffering and weeping.... God will Punish you Sir @MBuhari
— (@Ola_modem) ">4. And we may be forgetting the fact that this money is borrowed
— (@Clarenceonyeks) ">
— (@Clarenceonyeks) ">
If Jonathan had budgeted 180m for Social Media Propagandist, would it still be "not unusual"?
180m of borrowed money oh.
— (@Clarenceonyeks) ">5. No really what does this mean?

May we not foolishly defend government stupidity for free on social media while others get paid to do the same thing. If not now, in 2017.
