Chief Dele Momodu in an exclusive interview with GhanaWeb.com has declared as “false and misleading” a report alleging he was paid $1million by President John Mahama to promote his administration’s work and for endorsing his re-election in the forthcoming election.

The Nigerian media mogul described such allegation as a “fiction” which can only be described as the figment of the writer’s imagination.

“I think the people who fabricate such allegations are novelist, and you know, novel is naturally derived from fiction, if not, how realistic is it to come by such a figure? Is it that easy to make that kind of money? ” he asked rhetorically.

Adding that such allegation could only make sense if there’s evidence to substantiate the report.

He noted that his Ovation magazine has celebrated former President John Kufour and Jerry John Rawlings in an exceptional way but without being offered or demanding for a pesewa.

He asked: “How much did NPP pay me when I was doing all I did for former President Kufour? We (Ovation magazine) did the longest interview ever with former President John Rawlings for 18 hours, spanning five days. ”

Stating further that it’s uncharitable for people to run personalities down because of politics.

Chief Momodu reflecting on what seems to be an unprecedented backlash to his positive projection of Ghana and the track record of President Mahama, noted that it can never be out of place for him to report happenings events in Ghana; adding that if BBC, Aljazeera among other international media could come to Ghana and do report on various aspect of people and life in the country, what makes his case exceptional.
