Ivory Coast after booking their place in the finals of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) will face off with Namibia at the Stade de Marrakech in Morocco on Sunday.

The match is scheduled to take place on Sunday after thew Elephants won against Niger in an away goal advantage after a 2-2 draw in the second round qualification in the August last year.

This is the fourth time Ivory will appear in the competition after hosting the tournament in 2009.

"We will put ourselves in a real situation of high competition. Internationally, there are other difficulties,” Ibrahim said on Sport-Ivoire.ci.

“These are other challenges. It's a bit more complicated. But the second stage will allow us to really see our players.”

Ibrahim will be assisted by Ivorian football legend Kolo Toure.

The Ivorian side has never won the Chan title having finished third in 2016 in Rwanda.

Namibia on the other hand made it to the finals after winning in a 3-2 on aggregate against Comoros in the third rounf of qualification in August last year.

This is the first time The Brave Warriors will be participating in the continents competition exclusively features players from respective national championships.

Namibia’s defender-cum-midfielder, Emilio Martin has stated that they are fit and ready to make t to the knock-out stages

“Even though we are underdogs in the championship, I believe we will win our first game,” Martin told the NFA website.

“I trust in our individual talents, and I believe that the technical team has done its best to try and incorporate all the different skills and techniques that the players have in one team.”

Ricardo Mannetti has been charged with managing the Namibian side.

Ivory Coast is in group B with Namibia, Zambia and Uganda. Uganda and Zambia are expected to play at 9:30 am on Sunday as well.
