Ghana's road to the 2018 FIFA World Cup continues with a daunting task against the Pharaohs of Egypt in what is expected to be a titanic encounter and revive the rivalry in Alexandria.

The team which exclude experienced Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan and Kwadwo Asamoah through injury, has been boosted with the likes of deputy skipper Andre Ayew who returned from long injury after he was kept out of Uganda's game in tamale, Jonathan Mensah who was injured 15 minutes before the tamale game and former U-20 striker Ebenezer Assifuah returned to the team, will be hoping to pocket the maximum points in a bid to uproot the Pharaohs from the top of group E that also has Uganda and Congo in it.

Ghanaguardian.com writer Sadat Apusi, x-ray four things the Black Stars must do if they are to avoid defeat in Alexandria on November 13.

1. Keep the defence tight

Avram Grant and his technical crew must ensure that the duo of John Boye and Amartey have a proper understanding and a high level of concentration so as to checkmate the attacking threats of Mohammed Sallah, Mohamed El Nneny and Basem Morsy who are known for their pace, craftiness and sights for goals.

2. Avoid delay of passes

There is nothing wrong when a team build gradually from the backline, midfield to the attack. However, when there are certain delay of passes from any of these positions, it could cause a team lots of damage.
To this end, the Black Stars must have a quick vision of what they want to do with the ball without any form of dressing the ball around. Players like Mubarak Wakaso and Agyemang Badu, whoever get the nod to start the game must be told to release the ball quickly to the strikers if they are to put the Pharaohs of Egypt under pressure. If Afriyie Aquach could replicate his box-to-box style, then the team could fly over Egypt.

3. Select the attacking trio of Jordan Ayew, Dede Ayew and Frank Acheampong

Ordinarily, Skipper Asamoah Gyan would have been an ideal frontman but due to injury, Avram Grant should deploy the trio of Jordan, Dede Ayew and Acheampong who should get ready to take their goal scoring chances against the strong defence of the Egypt team that has Ali Gabr , Ahmed Elmohamady, Omar Gaber and Ahmed Fathy .

4. Avoid conceding an early goal

Statistics have shown that the Black Stars hardly win away matches against North African teams if they concede first. So, the team should make sure they make no blunders at the back.
Black Stars must try to score first in order to destabilize whatever form of tactics, and game plans the Egyptians will be coming out with.
