2022 WC qualifiers: CAF announces dates and venues for Ghana vs. Nigeria tie

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released the date and time for Ghana's World Cup play offs with perennial rivals Nigeria.

Ghana will play against Nigeria on Thursday March 24, 2022 at the Cape Coast Stadium in Cape Coast before the second leg comes off in Nigeria three days later.

Nigeria will host Ghana at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in the second leg of the Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers play off on Sunday 27th March, 2022.

A two legged tie on home and away basis will have to be played between the two fierce West African rivals to determine the team who will qualify for the mundial from November 21, 2022 to December 18, 2022.

Ghana was eliminated from the on going African Cup of Nations in the group stages after a 3-2 defeat to lowly ranked Comoros Island.

The four time AFCON winners have since sacked their Serbian coach Milovan Rajevac after the dismal performance with a replacement yet to be named with Chris Hughton tipped as favourite.

Nigeria on the other hand were eliminated in the round of 16 of the African Cup of Nations against Tunisia on Sunday 24th January, 2022.
