The Ghana Police Service is in mourning the tragic passing of 23-year-old Constable Amoah Bernice, affectionately known as “Akete,” whose sudden death has left both her colleagues and community in deep sorrow.

Constable Bernice, who joined the Service in 2023 after undergoing training at Assin Fosu, was stationed at Prang, where she was described by colleagues as dedicated, disciplined, and committed to duty.

Her short but impactful service had already earned her admiration among peers and superiors alike.

Reports indicate that the young officer passed away after battling a chronic stomach ulcer for approximately two weeks. Despite efforts to manage the condition, her health deteriorated, leading to her untimely death.

Her passing has sent shockwaves through her hometown of Assin Adiembra, where residents are grappling with the loss of a promising young woman who had chosen a path of service to her country.

Family members, friends, and colleagues have since been paying tribute to her memory, describing her as humble, hardworking, and full of life. Many have expressed grief over the loss of a young officer whose future in the Service appeared bright.

Final funeral rites for Constable Amoah Bernice “Akete” have been scheduled for April 28, 2026, at Assin Adiembra, where she will be laid to rest.
