NDC fully prepared for Akwatia by-election- Tanko-Computer:

The Deputy Director of Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Rashid Tanko-Computer, says the party is fully prepared for the upcoming Akwatia by-election, slated for September 2, 2025.
Speaking on The Point of View with Sammi Wiafe on Channel One TV, Tanko-Computer revealed that the NDC has made significant investments in its campaign and is confident heading into the polls.
“We have invested a lot, and the NDC is battle-ready for Akwatia. We’re respecting the police with their structure, the plan they have put in place. Nobody is going to bring pepper spray there. Everybody is going to be searched; they are going to search everybody.”
In a pointed remark, Tanko-Computer alleged that the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) had a history of misconduct during elections, singling out the need for additional scrutiny of female supporters.
“All the entrances of Akwatia will be cordoned, and they will search them. Especially, NPP ladies’ bags will be searched because we don’t trust them. They have a history of carrying pepper spray,” he stated.
The Akwatia by-election has been triggered by the passing of the sitting Member of Parliament, Ernest Kumi.
