Dynamic Youth Movement of Ghana says it is likely they will proceed to the Supreme Court to re-ignite further probe into the corruption case against the two Deputy Chiefs of Staff Abu Jinapor and Asenso Boakye.

The Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice threw out the case against the two government officials insisting the allegations brought against the two were without merit, “unsubstantiated” and “completely unwarranted.”

The human rights and anti-graft institution also declined jurisdiction on the allegation of professional misconduct brought against a police officer in the same matter by the same group- Dynamic Youth Movement, Ghana.

But reacting to the fall-out from the 24-paged findings by CHRAJ, the Convener for the group that petitioned the ant-graft body, Edward Tuttor said CHRAJ must have the scientific wherewithal to subject the audio-tape in question to scientific proof and hence it intends to pursue the matter to get to the bottom of the alleged scandal.

“There are so many options available to us; it is either we write back to CHRAJ, and provide additional evidence and register our dissatisfaction or we can head to the Supreme court to go and seek for interpretation as to whether CHRAJ has the mandate per the 1992 Constitution to conduct scientific validation of tapes that have a link with corruption or not. So  these are the two options available to us and at our own level we are going to have general meeting among all our members and the resolution that we shall arrive at, we shall pursue it.” he said in an interview with Accra-based Citi FM.

The Dynamic Youth Movement of Ghana petitioned CHRAJ after the two senior government officials had been cleared in an investigation by the Criminal Investigations Department [CID], an outcome the group found questionable.

Abu Jinapor and Francis Asenso-Boakye were accused of interfering in the affairs of Ghana’s premier health facility, the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and piling pressure on the CEO Dr. Felix Anyah, to give back a revenue-collection contract to UniBank after the same contract had been canceled.
