Aspiring Assemblywoman for the Aprabo-Kuwait-Oti Electoral Area in the Ashanti region, Madam Princess Owusu Ansah, has urged Ghanaians to go for regular health check-ups, to enable them to know their health status.

According to her, this would also offer them the opportunity to treat the diseases early enough to save cost, become healthy, in order to increase productivity.

Madam Princess made the call when she organized a free health screening exercise for residents at Aprabo-Kuwait-Oti Electoral Area on Saturday, October 26, 2019.

Residents were screened in diseases such as Hepatitis B, Diabetes, Blood Pressure and Malaria. Participants who tested positive for malaria were treated.

Madam Princess said the organization of the exercise, formed part of her social responsibilities.

She said the well-being of the people in the communities was dear to her heart, and that the area could only be developed when the people were healthier.

She, however, refuted claims made by the incumbent Assemblyman for the area, Bannor Elliott Fosu Jnr, that she (Princess) was not from the area to contest the assembly member slot.

"I've built my house in this community and have been staying here for 15 years now. When I die here, it is the people of this community who will convey me to my family members ...so don't allow anyone to throw dust into your eyes and tell you I don't come from this area", she affirmed.

Madam Owusu Ansah appealed to the electorates to vote massively for her, to enable her to provide the communities with social amenities such as quality water and good roads.

"When voted into power, I will also ensure that there are enough street lights to curb criminal activities in this area and provide jobs for the teaming unemployed youth", she added.
