Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama has congratulated the national team following the team’s 1-0 win over Ghana on Saturday 8th September.

Kenya managed to pick a rare victory over the West Africans at Moi International Sports Center Kasarani, to register their first win in the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification matches.

A Nicholas Opoku first half own goal saw the Black Stars succumb to their first defeat of the series in Group F.

The Tottenham Hotspur man missed the match due to fitness issues and was initially criticized for not honoring the call up.

Wanyama has however taken to social media to congratulate Harambee Stars for dimming Black Stars at home.

"Congratulations to Harambee Stars for the important win against Ghana. Well done Harambee Stars," Wanyama said in an Instagram post.

Next for Harambee Stars is a friendly match against Malawi scheduled for Tuesday 11th September at Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani.
