Majority of shakers and movers of Ghana's movie industry were missing in action at the 2016 Ghana Movie Awards nominations party held on Saturday by title sponsor, Zylofonmedia, at its premises at East Legon in Accra.

A-list and recognised named actors such as Majid Michel, Yvonne Nelson, Jackie Appiah, Nadia Buari, Yvonne Okoro, Van Vicker, John Dumelo, Adjetey Anang, Lydia Forson and a host of others were all not seen at the ceremony.

The rest include Kafui Danku, Joselyn Dumas, Nana Ama McBrown, Kwadwo Nkansah, Kweku Menu, Luckie Lawson, Agya Koo, Kofi Adjorlolo and a lot of others who were nominated for the award also didn't show up.

The 2016 Ghana Movie Awards is scheduled for December 4 at the Kempinski Gold Coast City Hotel in Accra and fears are the main event doesn't suffer similar setback.

Usually, nominees' parties are meant to announce nominations but organisers decided to make the nominations public days before the nominees' party was held.

Observers are wondering if that could be the reason stakeholders didn't turn up in their numbers or there were other reasons.

Meanwhile, there was more media presence at the ceremony on Saturday than actors.

Among actors who attended the ceremony, however, were veterans Fred Amugi and Akorfa Ejeani Asiedu, Elikem Kumordzi, Kalybos, Christabel Ekeh, Toosweet, Henry Adofo and a number of new faces.
