Ghana forward Daniel Afriyie Barnieh has reached a personal milestone after scoring his 10th league goal of the season for FC Aarau, despite the club’s 3-1 home defeat to Etoile Carouge in the Swiss Challenge League.

‎The 24-year-old found the net in the 78th minute to draw Aarau level, raising hopes of a comeback. However, a late collapse saw the hosts concede twice, handing victory to their opponents and dealing a blow to their promotion ambitions.

‎Barnieh, a former Hearts of Oak striker, has been in impressive form this season, also registering six assists. His contributions have been key to Aarau’s push for promotion.

‎With five matches remaining, Aarau sit three points behind FC Vaduz in the race for promotion.

‎The Ghana international recently committed his future to the club, signing a contract extension that will keep him at Aarau until the summer of 2028.
