Management committee chairman of the Black Stars, George Afriyie, believes the team can qualify to the 2018 World Cup despite being five points behind Egypt.

Ghana lost 2-0 to Egypt in Alexandria on Sunday, a result which put the Black Stars third on the table. Many believe that is the end of the road for Ghana but George Afriyie who doubles as the vice President of the Ghana Football Association believes they still have a chance.

"Well, it doesn't look good on paper but this is football and anything can happen," he said "The fact that they have won six points so far does not mean they have qualified but we can't take anything away from them. We should just look at what's next and do it and see what the future holds."

The qualifiers will resume in August 2017.
