The Kwahu Traditional Council, under the chairmanship of Kwahuhene Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong II at its last sitting at Abene has suspended Nana Osei Twum Brefa, Bukuruwa hene.

The suspension came about after the chief consistently flouted warnings by the overlord of Kwahu to the effect that he should not engage in any land sales until further advised.

Nana Brefa who’s also a TV show host on Multi TV, had earlier sold a piece of land at Afram Plains even though there is an ongoing dispute on the said land with Nana Dododgya a settler headman.

A statement signed by Nana Yaw Boadi (Chief of Staff ) said due to the pending litigations, Daasebre further invited Nana Brefa to Abene and asked him not to lease any lands around the disputed areas until the dispute is settled.

However he went ahead to lease an additional ONE MILE SQUARE clearly against the directive given.

“At yesterday’s Council meeting, presided by Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong II, Nana Brefa was queried if he has leased any land to which he responded in the affirmative.

“The Abusuapanyin and elders from Bukuruwa who were all summoned to answer questions before the Traditional Council informed Nananom they could no longer continue to defend Nana Brefa since his insolence and resolve to do things his own way has stalled the development and progress of Bukuruwa.

After deliberations, Daasebre ordered Nana Osei Brefa to resolve all pending issues with his Abusuapanyin and elders. He was accordingly suspended.” the statement added.
