All you need to know about UEFA Champions League draw set for today in Monaco

The lineup for this season’s UEFA Champions League will be revealed on Thursday, August 28, 2025, when the official draw takes place at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco at 16:00 GMT.
This year will be the second edition of the revamped format, which has replaced the old group stage system.
Rather than being split into groups, the 36 qualified clubs compete in a single league table, with each side playing eight matches—four at home and four away.
Opponents are chosen from four seeded pots, based on UEFA’s club rankings. Every team will face two clubs from each pot, with the rules preventing sides from the same country being drawn against one another.
Additionally, no club can play more than two opponents from the same domestic league.
The new league stage will run from September 16, 2025, until January 28, 2026.
The top eight teams advance directly to the round of 16, while clubs placed 9th to 24th will contest play-off ties in February to book their place in the knockouts.
So far, 32 teams are confirmed, with the final four to be decided in tonight’s play-off matches.
