The United States of America has mourned victims of the La gas explosion.

The explosion occurred on Thursday December 22, killing nine and injuring 36.

“We offer deepest condolences. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families and friends,” the American Embassy in Ghana said in a tweet.


The cause of the fire is officially still unknown.

Meanwhile, government has absorbed the cost of medical treatment for the injured.

The president, John Dramani Mahama, Vice President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur, and Health Minister Alex Segbefia have all made separate visits to the victims currently receiving treatment at the Police, La General, and 37 Military hospitals, respectively.
