The National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams has lashed out at party bigwigs who recommended Afrifra Yamoah Ponkoh to President Mahama to be appointed as Ejisu Juabeng MCE.

According to Mr Adams, President Mahama’s appointment of Yamoah Ponkoh brought the NDC on its knees on the Ejisu Juabeng municipality, contributing to the party’s defeat in the 2016 election.

Speaking in a media interview, the NDC 2016 Campaign Coordinator insisted appointing Yamoah Ponkoh as an MCE caused more harm to the party than good in Ejisu and the Ashanti Region as a whole.

“He did not deserve to be appointed as MCE, hence his inability to secure the confirmation of the assembly members in Ejisu, even when he was reappointed for the second time.

In fact his appointment was part of the “unfortunate appointments” the President made while in power,” Kofi Adams regretted.

Mr Adams was reacting to accusations by Mr Ponkoh that he (Adams) lacked managerial skills and therefore serving as the Campaign Coordinator for the party contributed to the party’s woes in 2016.

The former MCE, who also spoke in an interview insisted that, Mr Adams ought to take the blame for contributing for his role in sending the NDC into opposition.

He held a strong view that, Mr Adams was the reason the Central Region and Fantes in general did not vote for the NDC.
