Are the photos in your WhatsApp chats disappearing? Or the status posted by friends have turned grey? Here is why it has happened and how to fix it.
WhatsApp version 2.19.66 reportedly has a bug that is deleting photos from users’ chats. The bug is now affecting only the WhatsApp Beta users and updating it to the latest 2.19.66 version might cause your WhatsApp photos to delete as well.
However, since the photos sent via WhatsApp gets saved in the gallery, it would not be lost forever.

Many app users took to Twitter to post about the glitch in the messaging app and also warned others to not download the version of WhatsApp. Many others have complained about not being able to see their friends’ status updates. The bug reportedly turned their status grey – raising doubt in them about their friends blocking them! The current version available on the Google play store is 2.19.71.

However, WhatsApp has also reportedly released an update for the beta version to root out the problem. Apart from this, the messaging app also rolled out an update for iPhone users that abled them to go past the face ID lock and read their chats. Another important feature introduced enables the users to lock the app with their Face ID and protect their chats. This update will be rolled out Android phones soon.
