Dutch-born English with Ghanaian descent Arvin Appiah has joined lower tier side FC Lugo on loan from UD Almeria.

Appiah joined Spanish second-tier side Almeria on a five-year deal from Nottingham Forest for 8million Euros in summer 2019 but has failed to live up to the hype.

He became the most expensive transfer in Almeria's history following his move from the Championship side.

The winger has now decided to join third tier side FC Lugo in order to get regular game time.

Appiah made just eleven appearances for Almeria in all competitions this season and despite the club’s initial stance not to send him on loan this window, he pushed for it in an effort to get more playing time.
