Asante Kotoko secure first summer signing with acquisition of midfielder Hubert Gyau
Asante Kotoko have officially announced the signing of promising midfielder Hubert Gyau from Berekum Chelsea.
The 20-year-old talent put pen to paper on a four-year deal on Tuesday after successfully completing a medical, committing his future to the Porcupine Warriors until June 2029.
The club confirmed the transfer on Wednesday, describing Gyau’s arrival as a key part of their long-term rebuilding plan ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
Gyau, widely praised for his composure, work rate, and ability to win balls in midfield, stood out during the just-ended campaign, drawing interest from several top-flight sides.
Despite the competition, Kotoko moved decisively to secure his signature, making Gyau their first official signing of the current transfer window.
He is expected to join pre-season training in the coming weeks as the Reds look to bounce back from a mixed 2024/25 season.
