The Ashanti Regional National Sports Authority has released a document detailing its achievement since January - September 2019 under the stewardship of the  Acting Region Sports Director, Mr Edmund Appiah.

The National Sports Authority (NSA) is the mother body of all Sports federations in the country and also manages all stadiums across Ghana in this case including the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Its core mandate it to develop and promote Sports in the country as the mother body of all sporting federations.

Among the achievements listed in this document includes the successful hosting of matches at the venue which is the home grounds of Asante Kotoko.

Kotoko played their Caf Champions league matches against Kano Pillars and Etoile du Sahel at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium which is managed by the NSA without any hitches.

They also cited the tier one NC special cup matches played at the venue as among its success story.

Others includes the vast improvement in sanitary conditions at the stadium which was nothing to write home about in time past.

"The Directorate, in the sustenance of its Stadium Sanitation Improvement Initiative, continually engaged the general staff body in regular clean-up exercises to purposefully ameliorate sanitary problems that, hitherto, dented our overall work output and generated media, as well as public furore."

"Beside the erection of immovable waste bins in the stadium, the stands and washrooms are regularly cleaned up by scheduled Officers and supported by yet-to-be assigned Youth Employment Agency personnel."

"The sods are always kept low and weedicides applied to the other parts of the stadium. More so, the cesspit tanks are timely emptied to avoid spillages that characterized the Directorate in recent past."

"As a testament to the above, the Sports Minister, Regional Minister, NSA Director-General, KMA Mayor, the Media and the general public continue to heap praises on the Directorate. waste bin were placed at vantage points in and around the stadium."

Other achievement listed include the provision of financial support and equipment to sporting federations in the region among others.
