Atlético Madrid star Thomas Partey is the only Ghanaian player included in CAF’s 34 man shortlist for the 2018 CAF Awards.

Other top Ghanaian stars such as Andre Ayew, Asamoah Gyan, Christian Atsu and Kwadwo Asamoah were snubbed.

The 34-man list which also has the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang vying was announced on Friday by the Confederation of African Football.

CAF is expected to cut down the shortlist in the coming days.

No Ghanaian has won the award since Abedi Ayew did so in 1993.

The award ceremony will be held in Dakar, Senegal; for the first time, on January 8th, 2019.
