Youth and the New Patriotic Party(NPP) executives in Atwima Nwabiagya North District in the Ashanti Region are on rampage following the appointment of the District Chief Executive (DCE) Madam Rebecca Yeboah by President Akufo-Addo.

The Youth and the NPP executives are calling on President Akuffo Addo to revoke the appointment of Madam Rebecca Yeboah as the DCE for Atwima Nwabiagya North District.

Atwima Nwabiagya North District was carved out of the Atwima Nwabiagya Municipal Assembly this year.

The youth and the assembly members cladded in red hit the principal streets of Barekese the district capital of Atwima Nwabiagya Nwabiagya North to demonstrate their dissatisfaction with the choice of the President.

The youth speaking to Abusua FM’s Osei Kwadwo warned the assembly members not to endorse Madam Rebecca Yeboah as the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Nwabiagya North District today.

According to the angry youth, Madam Rebecaa Yeboah won’t be the best agent for change in the new district while she was accused of not being a native of the district.

“We are not happy with the way Chairman Wontumi and President Nana Addo want to push the woman to become the DCE for this district. The woman doesn’t qualify to be DCE for Atwima Nwabiagya North District. We are calling on President Nana Addo to revoke the appointment of the DCE if he wants peace to prevail. We are also warning the assembly members not to endorse Madam Rebecca Yeboah if they want to get peace of mind to do their work. We will continue to demonstrate till President Nana Addo addresses our concerns” they said.

They however threatened to vote against the New Patriotic Party (NPP), if Madam Rebecca Yeboah becomes DCE for Atwima Nwabiagya North District.

Meanwhile assembly members of the Atwima Nwabiagya North District Assembly are expected to approve or disapprove Madam Rebecca Yeboah today August 2, 2018.
