Education Minister, Haruna Iddrisu has extended his best wishes to the students sitting for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), which begins today, Wednesday, June 11, and runs through Tuesday, June 17.

Speaking on the Citi Breakfast Show earlier today, the minister described the BECE as a significant milestone in the academic journey of young learners across the country.
“Today is a significant milestone in the academic journey of these youngsters. Learners numbering 603,328 students across the country will be sitting for the BECE from today. On behalf of the president, and on my own behalf as well as the people of Ghana, I want to wish them good luck and best wishes,” he said.

The Minister urged candidates to remain calm and focused, and to avoid any form of examination malpractice.
“A heartfelt encouragement to all of them and a reminder that they should remain calm, focused, and determined, and avoid all forms of examination malpractice. They have to believe in their own ability to succeed and to do that through the utmost effort and engagement,” he said.

He also encouraged students to view the examination as a natural progression in their education.
“They should just consider it as a normal test of memory. They have been studying over the years because of this day, and they only need to put their knowledge, skill, and the confidence they have acquired to the test. I wish them the best of luck,” he added.

This year’s BECE will see a total of 603,328 candidates from across the country which is one of the largest cohorts in recent history to sit for the exams.
