Chelsea left-back Baba Rahman is on the verge of completing his proposed move to  German Bundesliga side Schalke, after succesfully completing a medical with the club.

The Ghanaian international is expected to put pen to paper a 18 month loan deal in the coming days.

Schalke Sporting Director Christian Heidel all but confirmed the deal to reporters, “It looks like we can bring together what Chelsea envisioned, and what FC Schalke imagined.”

This will be Baba Rahman's second spell with the club, having spent four months with the German outfit at the start of last season.

The 23 year old will be Schalke's third signing in the winter transfer window after Cedric Teuchert and Marko Pjaca and is expected to begin training with the team next week.
