Shortly after Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has cast his ballot in Walewale, the vice presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party said he is praying that God smiles on NPP and its Nana Akufo-Addo in the ongoing elections.
The running mate to Nana Addo anticipates that the choice of the people will prevail. He said to journalists “I expect that the will of the people will prevail at the end of the day. We should have a transparent, a free and fair election; that’s my expectation and I think that with the cooperation of all the stakeholders, this exercise will end up being peaceful, and I hope and pray that God smiles on the NPP and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the expression of the will of the people.”
Ghanaians were urged by Dr. Bawumia to peacefully go out and vote as the country elects a new president and members of parliament for the next four years.

“The wait is over. Please go out and vote peacefully,” Dr Bawumia tweeted on voting day Wednesday 7 December.

The stipulated time for voting is 7am and some polling stations began at the exact time while others began after in the 275 constituencies across Ghana.

Scores of voters were seen in queues as early as 5am with some holding queue spots for friends and family.Others used materials such as gallons, stones, and plastic chairs for queuing.
