Bechem United secured a crucial 1-0 victory over Aduana FC in the Bono derby on Saturday, June 1, 2024, moving them within reach of a top-four finish in the Ghana Premier League.

The tightly contested match at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park in Bechem was decided by Emmanuel Owusu's decisive strike in the 77th minute.

This victory lifts the Hunters to 5th place on the league table, now just one point behind fourth-placed Nations FC, with Bechem United sitting on 47 points.

The first half saw both teams struggle to break each other down in a pulsating battle, but it was Owusu who finally broke the deadlock 13 minutes before the end of regulation time, ensuring Bechem United claimed all three points.

Aduana FC, currently second on the table with 49 points, now face a precarious situation.

Their hopes of clinching the Premier League title will diminish if league leaders FC Samartex 1996 manage to secure at least a draw against Bibiani GoldStars FC at the Nsenkyire Arena in the Western derby on Sunday, June 2, 2024.

This result underscores Bechem United's strong push for a top-four finish, adding excitement to the final stages of the league season.
