Former Black Stars goalkeeper Joe Carr has urged Black Stars head coach Otto Addo not to entertain non-performing senior players in his squad.

He says that the Borussia Dortmund assistant coach who doubles as the Ghana head coach must be tough and put his foot on the ground with the 2022 World Cup looming.

Recently Black Stars captain Andre Ayew revealed in an interview that senior players have an advantage when it comes to squad selection giving iphone online casinos users the hope that they can win big during the tournament in Qatar.

But the former goalie has called on the Black Stars gaffer Otto Addo to bench senior players who do not perform.

In an interview with Graphic Sports, Joe Carr explained that; "The coach (Otto Addo) should not hesitate to bench senior players if they do not live up to his expectation.

According to Carr, seniority should not be the yardstick for selection but rather performance as that will encourage competition in the team.

"This is the only way to get players to give their best during the competition," he added.

Ghana will play Switzerland in their last friendly match before the World Cup on 17th November, 2022 before opening their World Cup campaign against Portugal on November 24.

The Black Stars have been drawn with Portugal, Urugay and Korea.
