Members of Bissa Fitness Club Ghana(BFCG) have paid a courtesy call on Mallam Mohammed Abubakar Yambah, who is the Bissa Chief Imam of the Mamobi community, formally inviting him to the group's upcoming launch.

The visit forms part of the club's awareness campaign to get the Bissa communities well informed about the 5th October event, which will officially mark the birth of the Keep Fit Club.

According to the Chairman the planning committee, Mr Mahmoud Sambare,  the club aims at extending invitations to some Chief and elders of Bissas in the region, as it expects a mammoth event on the day.

In his invitational address, Mr Mahmoud Sambare, who was also the leader of delegation, described Imam as a 'father figure' whose prayers and support in the past months have been a blessing to the club.

"We are here to formerly invite you to the launch as you have been a father figure to this Fitness Club of ours, as well as all other Bissa groups," Mr Mahmoud said.

"Your immense support to us in the past months cannot be forgotten and your presence will equally be needed on the day of the launch."

The memorable meeting was climaxed with a donation of the Bissa Fitness Club's T shirt to the Imam, signifying the acceptance of his spiritual backing by the club over the past months.

It is the second of a kind to be embarked on by the Planning Committee of the Fitness Club in two weeks, following a similar visit to Hajia Salamatu Abdul Mumin Sambare, who is the greater Accra women organiser of the Bissas.

Imam Yambah's relationship with the BFCG dates back to April this year when he led a Pre-Ramadan Quranic recitation program organised by the club to seek God's guidance and protection throughout  the fasting month.

In his response, he asked for God's guidance and support for the group, which has turned out to be one of the fastest growing youth associations in the region.

He also urged the leaders of the group to attach godliness to their leadership approach, advising them to eschew individualism, which he said is "one of the satanic tools to destroy the oneness among people".

According the Mahmud-led committee, similar visits will be carried out to some Chiefs and prominent members of the Bissa ethnic groups, as a way of creating Awareness for the launch.

"All these are part of activities towards the main launching day in two months time," he told the media.
"It is a process towards a big launch, and we are not stopping until we are able to extend our invitations to as many Bissas as we can.

"That is what our motto 'zekula' is all about," he added.

The BFCG has become one of the fastest-growing clubs in the region with membership size of 300, following a year of  successful organisation of aerobics and other heath-related activities as its core mandate.

Its official launch, however, is slated for 5th October at Frankies Hotel in Nima, Accra, an occasion which is expected to be graced by the Deputy Coach of the Black Stars Ibrahim Tanko and other prominent members of the Bissa community.

It comes after all the necessary documentations and registrations were finalised late last year, making it a legal entity.
