Black Queens head coach, Nora Häuptle, recently traveled to France to scout promising midfielder Mia Irene Gyau during a French Arkema Premiere League match between Reims and Nantes at the Stade de Reims.

This visit underscores Häuptle's commitment to identifying top talent for Ghana’s senior women’s national team in preparation for the rescheduled 2025 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.

During her scouting mission, Häuptle engaged in meaningful discussions with Mia Irene Gyau, whose grandfather, George Gyau, was a former Black Stars player.

This family connection could play a pivotal role in Mia's decision to represent Ghana at the international level.

Häuptle’s efforts to strengthen the Black Queens' squad have seen her actively observe other key players in recent weeks, including Josephine Bonsu, who plays for Carl Zeiss Jena in Germany's Women’s Bundesliga, and Princess Owusu from Turkish side Ünye Kadin FK.

With a clear focus on building a competitive squad, Coach Häuptle plans to continue monitoring talented players across various leagues as part of her preparations for the 2025 TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
