Boakye Agyarko was simply sacrificed to hide Akufo-Addo’s dark secrets – General Mosquito
7th August 2018
The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has stated that President Akufo-Addo merely used the sacked Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko, as a scapegoat.
Asiedu Nketiah, better known as General Mosquito argued that the president needs to apologize to the people of Ghana for the gaffe.
“Yes Akufo-Addo has sacked Agyarko, but I think he is only using Agyarko as a scapegoat because he is the minister; I think we should blame the President for all these mess because he allowed it to happen,” he said.
The letter went on to say that the Minister of Mines and Natural Resources, John Peter Amewu will act as energy minister.
The energy minister was sacked over the controversial Novation and amendment AMERI deal.
His dismissal took “immediate effect.”
General Mosquito claims that the Akufo-Addo government took the revised deal to Parliament fully aware of the huge cost involved.
He went on to say that the President could not have been misled as it is being purported.
He then stated that the President should be blamed for the development since there may be other people involved in the deal.
