Former IBO lightweight champion, Emmanuel ‘Game Boy’ Tagoe is set to make a return on August 11th.

His opponent is yet to be revealed but the bout will come off in Finland.

The fight will be Tagoe’s first outing after seven months following his first defense of his IBO lightweight strap after stopping Argentina’s Fernando Saucedo in round 10.

Two days ago, the James Town native was stripped of his IBO belt after failing to comply with the body’s rules.

The Ghanaian was mandated by the IBO to fight mandatory challenger Fedor Papazov but Tagoe’s management were not interested in that fight hence the decision to strip the belt from him.

In stripping Tagoe’s of his belt, the IBO wrote to the Ghana Boxing Authority, the letter read, “I regret to inform you that on May 21st the IBO Championships Committee ordered that the IBO World Lightweight title held by Emmanmuel Tagoe be vacated due to his failure to comply with the requirements of the IBO Championship Rules and Regulations.”
