The fate of the Ghana Football Association's presidential elections looks grim and gloomy as the Court of Arbitration for Sports has directed the Normalization Committee to fully exhaust the claims of disqualified aspirant Wilfred Osei Palmer before going on with the elections which is scheduled for 25th October 2019.

The Swiss based arbitration body gave their ruling Thursday after the disqualified aspirant prayed the court to set aside the election till his case is fully dealt with.

The NC have been instructed to respond to Wilfred Kwaku Osei latest by Monday 10 am Swiss time.

The disgruntled aspirant's appeal was thrown out by the election's committee of the FA for reasons that he failed to submit his documents within the stipulated appeal time frame hence his decision to seek solace in the Sports adjudicatory chamber which has duly been granted.

"The respondent is invited to respond to inform the CAS Court Office within TWO DAYS from the receipt of this letter by courier whether it agrees with the appellant's request," CAS wrote on Thursday in a letter addressed to the Acting General Secretary of the Ghana FA Alexander Asante.

"I note that the appellant has applied for provisional measures. In accordance with Article R37 of the code, is Respondent is granted a deadline until Monday 21 October, 2019 10am Swiss time to file its position on the Appellant's request," Caroline Fischer, Counsel to the CAS, wrote in the letter to the GFA.

Palmer was disqualified from contesting the GFA presidential race for failing to pay a mandatory 10% commission for the sale of his ex player Joseph Paintsil.

The election's committee of the Normalization Committee disqualified Palmer for breaching  Article 33 (5) of the Ghana Football Association regulation.

Wilfred Osei Kwaku Palmer was thought to be a leading candidate in the run up to the election until his 'unfair' disqualification by the Normalization Committee's vetting committee.

The GFA elections is scheduled to be held on 25th October 2019 but the compounding legal wranglings may force the NC to reschedule the elections.
