Malmo FF midfielder, Kingsley Sarfo has been convicted by a Malmö District Court on Friday after he was found guilty of two counts of rape against children.

The Ghanaian who has consistently denied  any wrongdoing throughout the trial will serve two-years and eight months in prison.

He has also been hit with a fine of 15,000 Swedish krowns and will be deported after serving out his sentence.

The 23 year old is believed to be one of Ghana's rising top players with great skills and the sentence could effectively end his burgeoning playing career.

Sarfo was handed a debut call-up to feature for the senior national team of Ghana in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Uganda after opting to play for Ghana ahead of Sweden.
