Dutch-born Ghanaian striker Brian Brobbey grabbed a brace on Sunday afternoon as Ajax defeated FC Utrecht 3-0 in the Dutch Eredivisie.

The youngster departed Ajax last season for German side RB Leipzig but life in Germany did not go as planned and sealed a loan move back to Ajax in the winter transfer window.

At Leipzig, Brobbey did not get playing time as he struggled to convince the coaches that he deserved a place in the starting line up.

He was part of the Ajax team that went on a mid season training camp in Portugal where he shone and was rewarded with a start last Sunday against Utrecht.

Brazilian winger Anthony opened the scores for Ajax in the 5th before the striker who has Ghanaian parents scored a brace in the 19th and 45th minutes respectively.

The win further consolidates Ajax's lead at the summit of the Dutch Eredivisie with the 3-0 win on Sunday.
