The Western Regional Police Command of the Ghana Police Service has said the victims were lured with mobile phones, jobs and money.

According to the police command, the suspect who is being held for kidnapping the three girls is no stranger to the victims.

The notorious Nigerian kidnapper identified as Samuel Udoetuk-Wills whose house clothing belonging to one of the girls was found in currently held in police custody.

Five months into the kinappings, the police say they have made very little progress in locating Priscilla Koranchie, 15 years; Priscilla Blessing Bentum, 21; and Ruth Love Quayson, 18.

Priscilla Blessing Bentum went missing on August 17, 2018 at Kansaworodo in the Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipality.

Ruth Love Quayson went missing on December 4, 2018 at Butumagyebu Junction, popularly called BU-Junction in the twin-city of Sekondi/Takoradi while Priscilla Koranchie went missing on December 21, 2018 at Nkroful.

The prime suspect has refused to reveal vital information to the police about the whereabouts of the girls. He is being held in connection with separate kidnappings in the Sekondi/Takoradi metropolis and the Effia Kwesimintsim municipality in the Western Region.

At a press briefing on Wednesday, 23 January 2019, the Western Regional Police Commander, DCOP Vincent Redeemer Dedzo revealed that the missing girls had been communicating with the kidnapper.

“The accused [person] contacted the victims several times through mobile phone communication. He promised the first and second victims jobs while he promised the third victim a mobile phone,” DCOP Dedzo said.

He continued: “The police have discovered some gadgets from the accused person for investigation purposes, and had been forwarded to the CID Headquarters for analysis”.

The Commander said the accused person has named four other accomplices, adding that the police are making “strenuous efforts to arrest these suspects from their hideout”.
