Incumbent National Democratic Congress(NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for the Talensi Constituency in the Upper East Region, Benson Tongo Baba, has retained his seat.
The retired Deputy Director General of the Ghana Prisons Service polled 12,874, beating his main contender Wuni Thomas Pears of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who polled 8,382.
The NDC, represented by the former Ghana Olympics Committee chairman, snatched the seat from the NPP in a by-election held in July, 2015, following Robert Nachinab Doameng of the (NPP) who resigned after becoming the Paramount Chief of Tongo.
