Buses Reportedly Collide in Ghana, Killing at Least 70 (PHOTOS)

The incident took place on Friday morning the Kintampo North municipal district. As a result of the accident, one of the vehicles caught fire while the other was overturned by the impact.
A bus heading to the southern city of Kumasi collided head-on on the Kintampo-Tamale highway with a bus heading to Bolgatanga, located in the country's north. While the Kumasi-bound bus went up in flames, and all of its passengers died immediately, the Bolgatanga-bound bus fell into a ditch.
According to the media outlet, preliminary reports suggest that one of the bus drivers fell asleep while driving and crossed into the oncoming lane, crashing into another bus.

Several passengers of the Bolgatanga-bound bus have survived and were taken to a local hospital. An investigation has been opened into the collision.
