9th October 2019
The ministry of Business Development on Tuesday launched another initiative dubbed the Campus Business Pitch, hoping to boost entrepreneurial mindset of students across the various Universities.
It is an inter-tertiary competition which will see students pitching against one another to market their business ideas for Governmental support.
It comes as an extension of the presidential pitch, which is is in line with the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s, vision of assisting young entrepreneurs to incubate their business ideas and improve livelihoods.
Under the initiative students will be pitching their business ideas before a panel of judges with the best ideas getting supported through capacity building and funding.
Speaking at the launch held at the University of Ghana business school, the Minister Dr Mohammed Awal said an amount of GH¢3 million has been invested in the program.
“We are looking at changing the mindset of our students to be job creaters a instead of job seekers after leaving the university," he said.
'This Campus Business Pitch is the first of its kind and will grant these students a great platform to be entrepreneurial and self-independent.
"We are going to put GH¢3 million if the business idea is compelling, inovative and bankable."
