Ghanaian center back Mohammed Salisu has once again been omitted from the senior national team the Black Stars.

Mohammed Salisu despite his incredible performance for Real Valladolid last season in Spain that saw him earn a move to Southampton is yet to play for Ghana.

The 21 year old has once again been omitted from the 23 man squad that will play against Mali in an International friendly game on 9th October 2020.

C.K Akonnor has in the past revealed that Salisu Mohammed did not want to play for Ghana something which was hurriedly refuted by the player's family.

This time C.K Akonnor has revealed that Salisu's absence from the latest call up is because his club Southampton prevented him from coming for the game because they think he is not fit enough.

"He is not in the team because I heard his coach spoke about him in terms of fitness level".

They are looking at October after the national games, before he will be back. Based on that, I want to give him a chance to rest and get fit and start a game in Southampton and then we will look forward to get him on board," he added.
