Black Stars coach C.K Akonnor will this evening name his squad that will face Mali in his first ever game as head coach of the senior national team.

The former Kotoko gaffer was named coach of the Black Stars in January this year as replacement for Kwesi Appiah but is yet to play any competitive game.

He was due to face Sudan in the AFCON qualifier but that match was rescheduled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Akonnor will name his squad that will play that friendly at around 16:30 GMT via GFA News program which is aired on Facebook on Fridays.

Ghana will play against Mali in a friendly game next month in Turkey.

The coach is expected to maintain most of the key names in the squad with no room for any local player as there has been no league in Ghana the past six months.

Red hot John Antwi is expected to be named among the squad later this evening by C.K Akonnor.
