Ghana coach Charles Kwabla Akonnor has snubbed players who ply their trade in the Ghana Premier League in his 23 man squad list for next month's friendly game against Mali in Turkey.

In his first game as Black Stars coach no local player was able to gatecrash the squad list and that is understandably so as there has been no football in Ghana since the middle of March when the coronavirus pandemic began.

The Black Stars will take on Mali on October 9 in Antalya, Turkey as part of the team’s preparations for the AFCON qualifier against Sudan.

Unlike his first call up prior to the AFCON qualifier against Sudan which was called off  about four local players were handed call up with the likes Kwadwo Amoako of Ashgold, Yahaya Mohammed, Richard Attah of Hearts, Habib Mohammed of Kotoko all getting a call up.

This time round the coach has been forced to rely on only foreign based players .
